Wash and dry all summer clothing before storing. When done drying, press any items that need pressing and then fold all items. When folding, make the item as small as possible. This will make it easier to fit more items in one container.

Sort items into piles according to each person and type of clothing. Put all like items together, such as shorts in one pile and shirts in another.
