Step1
Know your best option. Dry cleaning is always the best option for tweed. It upholds the fabric, which makes it last longer. You don't have to dry clean your tweed every time you wear it. Once a tweed vest has been dry cleaned, it will stay clean for several wearings, as long as it doesn't get stained.

Step2
Spot clean your tweed vest. If you get food stuck on your garment, you can usually get it out yourself. Allow the food to dry. Take a toothbrush or butter knife and gently scrape off the food. Be very gentle and patient. If the food was not absorbed by the tweed, this may save you lots of money on dry cleaning.

Step3
Use a pumice stone to get rid of unwanted fuzz balls that tend to gather on tweed. Gently rub the stone across the garment. The stone will rub off the fuzz. You can also take tweezers and pick off the fuzz.

Step4
Always hang up your tweed garments after wearing them. This will help them keep their shape and leave you with less trips to the cleaners. This also eliminates having to press the vest the next time you want to wear it.

Step5
Store tweed in cedar bags or in a closet with cedar balls when not in use. This will keep away moths, which can eat holes in your tweed.
